My Dinner Party

Student must put together a dinner party for 6 famous Americans.

Famous Americans must be chosen from the years 1700-1865.

Diagram: Put together a diagram of the dinner table and list where each person will sit at the table. Part of the assignment is explaining exactly why you put certain people next to others.

Example: I have George Washington sitting next to Abraham Lincoln so they can discuss the presidency and the mistakes made.

Also, you will come up with a dinner menu THAT FITS THE TIME PERIOD. Research what the average dinner would have been during that time period (1700-1865). (Chicken McNuggets were not invented at the time, neither were sodas.) Don’t forget dessert.

Introduction and Background: You will describe the guests, where they are from, what they did, and why they are important to your dinner party in an introduction. (minimum 2 paragraphs-200 words.)  You will write a MINIMUM of 10 sentences (appx. 100 words) for each person you choose, explaining why you chose them and why they are important to you.                                                                                                          

  -What type of issues will they discuss?                                                                                                               -Will they get along? Why, or why not.                                                                                                               -Who is hosting the party?                                                                                                                                     -Where is the party located.

** THOSE WITH A “C” OR BETTER WILL GET ANOTHER CHANCE FOR EXTRA CREDIT AFTER THE BREAK **
